About Taftan Louleh

Taftan Louleh, produces corrugated pipes, whose inside diameter measures from 200 mm to 1200 mm. Taftan Louleh, produces its pipes by using IDSC technology which is a leading technology in producing double wall PE corrugated pipes in the world. Corrugated polyethylene pipe usage has grown extensively in the last 20 years.  Most countries are now specifying this product as the pipe of preference. Corrugated polyethylene pipe offers important engineering design characteristics such as; enhanced hydraulic flow, unparalleled chemical resistance, good abrasion resistance, joint integrity and superior strength.

The complete production line has been purchased from Corma Company in Canada and these machines are the most modern machines of their kind in the world, and an amount of 90,000,000,000 Rials, has been invested on this important product. It’s also expected that by manufacturing these pipes, the needs of all the nearby cities and villages of Iran will be satisfied.

Production Process:

The raw material used to produce these pipes is HDPE (High Density Poly Ethylene). The Poly Ethylene is initially extruded by 2 extruders, which one of them is in charge of melting and injecting the inner layer, and the other extruder, is responsible for the outer one. The melted PE will go through a “Die Head” and after passing through particular channels, will be form the inner and outer layers of the pipe by “Vacuum Forming” system. The melted PE will be sucked up towards the surface of the mould blocks by a vacuum pump, and that’s how the outer section is shaped.. Then the inner and outer layers will be welded and then the hot pipe will exit the machine, which will be further cooled off down stream.

Technical Features

1)   In-line Coupling: For the first time in Iran, we produce our pipes, with coupling along the pipe. So the Spigot and Bell sections are embedded in the pipe length, so no more need to have Belling machine downstream and so, much higher production speed. Also, the coupling section itself has 2 layers (Double Wall In-line Coupling), so is much stronger in terms of ring stiffness. Therefore, when required to couple the pipes together, two sections are pushed towards each other and the O-ring inside the coupling will seal the coupled section properly.

2)   Strength and Ring Stiffness: We currently produce our pipes in 2 Standards of SN4 and SN8 according to “prEN13476”, which is a European Standard in Corrugated pipes. SN4 corresponds to Ring Stiffness of 4 KN/m^2 and SN8 equals to 8KN/m^2. Also we offer our products according to another Standard which is “DIN16961”. So according to this standard, we manufacture our pipes in 31.5 KN/m^2 and 63.0 KN/m^2 of Ring Stiffness.

3)   Super Cooling: in these machines, air-cooling of the pipes begins immediately once molding is complete. As soon as the pipe shrinks away from the mold block surface, cold air is channelled through the vacuum forming slits in one half of the mold block, around the pipe in the gap between it and the mold block surface, then out through the vacuum forming slits in the other half of the mold block. Super cooling results in productivity improvements of 25-100%.

4)   Mould Quick-Return (MQR): this system increases production speed by extending the molding track with mold blocks from the return track. It also allows the corrugator to operate with just a partially filled mold track.

5)   Vertical Design: The machines used for producing these pipes, feature vertical construction. This design is extremely user-friendly and has been proven for more than 30 years.
